Outdoor Concert – Vocal Legacy

3

An event sponsored by Carolina Retirement Suites. Transportation available from Westport to the park.

Rooted deeply in a rich legacy of Gospel music, Ron & Evelyn Snider and Terena Grice, together form Vocal Legacy, a name that defines this trio’s passion and purpose for singing the Good News.  Their musical style is Southern Gospel.  A mix of high energy songs and storytelling ballads showcase this group’s heart and musical ability at every concert.

Ron has been surrounded by Gospel Music for as long as he can remember.  His formative years were spent in Westport, ON around the family piano.  From age 13 he has been actively involved with music, singing with The Snider Family, Crimson River and today with Vocal Legacy.  Years of great memories and ministry have included more than a dozen recording projects.  Ron shares “I love to sing praises to our Lord and encourage others in their Christian walk”.

Evelyn grew up in Belleville, ON and has been active in music since her youth.  An accomplished pianist and teacher of piano, she has played for several groups including The Snider Family and Crimson River.  Her passion for people and a desire to make each day count for God has led her to be part of Vocal Legacy.  Her clear harmony vocals add a unique and distinct dimension to this team.  Evelyn loves spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren, Justin and Quinn.

Terena‘s musical journey took root at the age of 8 when she picked up her first guitar.  In 1997 she debuted as a gospel soloist in her hometown of Harrowsmith, ON and in 2005 joined Southern Gospel group Crimson River where her musical talent was showcased by several recording projects with the group.  In 2013 she joined with Ron and Evelyn Snider to form Vocal Legacy.  Her love for God and desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others is at the very center of this singer’s heart.

Buddy Holly & Rockabilly Riot Live

2016-06-28_205218

Chaffeys Locks on July 23rd and Westport Heritage day July 16th (11-2). Its time for some Rockabilly!

Buddy Holly Live! members Dave Bull (Buddy), Marty Crapper (Joe B.) and Stuart Pike (Jerry Allison) have graced stages in Ontario and New York from Collingwood to Sudbury to Cornwall and all points in between. Their brand of realism, vintage clothing and instruments, amplifiers, Texan drawl, stories and musicianship will leave you wanting more! Light-hearted and at times hilarious treatment of what it would have been like in the heyday of Buddy Holly and the Crickets (1958). Since 1999, the original members have perfected and now updated their highly successful theatre show to permit a “dance band” version of the band. This adds a whole new dimension to their show with the addition of other rockabilly greats like Carl Perkins, Bill Haley, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Cash, Stray Cats and the swinging Brian Setzer – Swinging Rockabilly and Buddy Holly! No matter what kind of music you like, a night out with Rockabilly Riot will be like no other… memorable and like travelling back in time for a couple of hours of great music and fun! Warning: spontaneous eruptions of laughter, singing and dancing are likely every show!
