We endured a tragic fire on the evening of Fri.Jan.18.2019 at the Fredenburgh Guest House across the street from the Main Inn. Thanksfully, no one was hurt but The Fredenburgh House is closed indefinitely. We continue to be open for business as usual in the Main Inn where our restaurant and bar, live music venue AND nine remaining rooms are located. If you already have reservations in the Fredenburgh House, we will be contacting you to re-locate you at a close-by location as soon as we can. Blues Music Magazine in the U.S. has called Dawn Tyler Watson “one of Canada’s true Blues treasures”. Born in England and raised in Ontario she moved to Montreal decades ago where she earned a BFA in Jazz Studies & Theatre at Concordia. Her powerful, soulful voice is also perfect for singing the Blues – which she loves as much as Jazz – and she’s won 3 Canadian Maple Blues Awards and 9 Quebec Lys Blues Awards over the years to prove it! Last year she teamed up with one of the hottest Soul/Blues/R&B groups in Quebec – the Ben Racine Band – and travelled to the famed International Blues Challenge in Memphis. They won first place beating out over 260 bands from around the world and Ben won Guitarist Of The Year – an amazing double honour. Dawn’s latest album “Jawbreaker” was nominated for the Maple Blues Award for Recording Of The Year in 2017 and she has another record coming out shorty backed once again by the Ben Racine Band. Can’t wait! Although Ben has played BOTR before this is Dawn’s first visit and we are honoured to finally have her here. What a fabulous double bill!
