Another August…Another Art Festival.
Now on it 31st year, the Rideau Valley Art Festival will be taking place again this year on August 24-26, 2012.
Located in the beautiful village of Westport on Upper Rideau Lake, in the heart of the historic Rideau Valley, the Festival is home to 63 artists this year. Proceeds from the exhibition fund many local and district community organizations.

Saturday, May 26th 2012 will mark the 125 th Anniversary of St. Edward School, Westport Ontario.
Events will kick off with the 1st Annual St. Edward Golf Tournament to be held at the Evergreen Golf Course ~ Wolfe Lake Rd. Westport with Registration @ 8:00 am and a Shotgun Start @ 9:00 am.

The 20th annual indoor Westport Antique Show and Sale will return to the beautiful Village of Westport again this year on June 2-3, 2012. The show will be held in the Westport Comminity Centre on the corner of Spring and Concession Streets. Saturday show hours are 10am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm. Admission is $5, and children under 12 Free. Plenty of free parking!
This year there will be fifty exhibition booths with fabulous dealers from Ontario and Quebec. There will be 10 new vendors this year, all qualified antique dealers! The dealers promise to bring excellent fresh inventory including the finest antiques in glass, tools, china, pine furnture, pottery, crystal, silver, folk art, formal furniture, collectibles and much more!
The Rideau Vista SchoolTea Room will be returning along with the Rideau District Museum and the Bedford District Historical Research Center. Also new will be Community display tables will be available to folks wishing to display their personal antiques but not wanting to sell them!
Plan to spend the day or the weekend in this lovely village. There are plenty of Bed and Breakfasts and Country Inns, restaurants, quaint shops, and the Rideau Canal. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Whether you come by car or by boat there is plenty of parking is this very friendly and hospitable village.

It’s almost August, and we all know what happens on the fourth weekend of August – The Rideau Valley Art Festival. That’s right, mark your calendars on August 26-28, 2011. The Village of Westport will be packed full of visitors and artists as they all head to the Westport Community Centre for this annual event.
By searching out original works of art by well-known and new artists whose work is juried before acceptance, the Board of Directors ensures high-quality work and a showcase of exceptional talent.
