Canadian Antique Fairs

antique box This summer come out and enjoy the return of the 22nd Annual indoor Westport Antique Show & Sale. The beautiful Village of Westport will be hosting this event on June 7-8, 2014 at the Westport Community Centre on the corner of Spring and Concession Streets.

Saturday show hours are 10am – 5pm, Sunday hours are 10am – 4pm. Admission is $6 per person, children 12 and under are free. Best of all there’s plenty of free parking!

This year will feature more fabulous qualified antique dealers from Ontario and Quebec. The dealers promise to bring excellent fresh inventory including the finest antiques in glass, tools, china, pine furniture, pottery, crystal, silver, folk art, formal furniture, collectibles and much more!

Memories of Hank and Patsy- Thousand Island Playhouse

Thousand Island PlayhouseCelebrate the songs of Hank Willimas and Patsy Cline in this musical cabaret. All their classic songs sung by the Thousand Island Playhouse performers.

Tickets are $20-$25.
The venue is the Firehall Theatre 185 South Street, Gananoque, Ontario, K7G 1A1, Canada.
There will be three shows, January 24, 25, and 26. Shows run for two hours.

Newboro Winter Carnival

Skate the Lake

speed skatingJanuary 25-26 2014 the annual Skate the Lake speed skating contest will take place in Portland, Ontario. Join in the fun by coming and cheering for the skaters or participate and skate to win! Brought to you by the North American Marathon Speed Skating Championship in Portland there are a  number of races to participate in from 5km to 50km. Skate around the giant oval track and compete to win.

St Edwards CWL Christmas Bazaar

Looking for some summertime fun in the Westport area? Why not start with local swimming spots. We have the best beaches and places to relax waterside in the Westport area.

Folley mountain
Owned and operated by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority, this is not only a great place to swim, but to hike, camp or just go for a picnick.
Located 50 km south of Perth Folley mountain overlooks the Upper Rideau Lakes area.

 

Westport Lion’s Club Beach
Operated by the Westport Lion’s Club, this beach is located on Sandy Lake and offers fun, sun and swimming. It’s an easy walk or drive from the village centre on Mountain Road.

 

Nordlaw Lodge
Owned and operated by Nordlaw Lodge, this beach is private and can only be accessed by staying at the Lodge. Located on Bob’s Lake Nordlaw offers a wide variety of fun in the sun whether you enjoy fishing, rafting or just hangning out by the heated pool or on the docks. Find them off of Road #6.

 

Wolfe Springs Golf and Waterfront Resort
Owned and operated by Wolfe Springs, there is more to do than you could possibly fit into one day. Wolfe springs offers golf, hiking, fishing, and swimming in the summertime and cross country skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, and snow shoeing in the winter time. Frontenac Provincial Park
Owned and operated by Ontario Parks this are offers a range of activities for all seasons. Great fishing, wildlife viewing, interior camping, paddling, hiking, swimming, cross- country skiing, snowshoeing and winter camping. Located on Salmon Lake between Westport and Kingston.

 

Gould Lake Conservation Area
Owned and operated by the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority Gould Lake offers a great selection of activities for all seasons. In the summer enjoy hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and picnicking. During the winter you enjoy cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Located on Gould Lake road between Kingston and Westport.

 

Meisel Woods Conservation Area
Owned and operated by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority Meisel Woods offers great hiking, nature watching and swimming. In the winter come and cross country ski or snowshoe through a winter wonderland. located on Anderson Road outside of Westport.
