Music by the Pond

Westport Ontario

This summer the Centre for Creative Learning is presenting Music by the Pond, a series of sunning musical and dance performances by renowned Canadian and international artists, including students from The Royal Conservatory of Music.

All performances take place at the Stepping Stones Garden and Ponds, a beautiful setting for some of the summer’s most inspiring concert and dance series. Buy your tickets ahead of time and enjoy a special rate: Students-$10, Adults-$15, and Family-$25. Tickets available at the door for: Students-$15, Adults-$20, and Families-$30.

Here’s a complete list of this summer’s acts:
King of the Swingers
June 29, 2-3:30pm
You’ll enjoy watching the lively and entertaining musical performances of the King of the Swingers! Their inspiring group includes a tenor banjo, upright bass, accordion, clarinet and more. Audiences love their up-beat, swing feel and energy that will get you groovin’. Allow the King of the Swingers to elevate your spirit and entertain you through the entire show! Light refreshments are included with ticket prices.

CCLCirrcus Terrifico by Motus O Dance Theatre
July 27, 2-3:30pm
The whole family will enjoy the hilarious show by the nationally recognized Motus O. Cirrus Terrifico, a comedy about three circus performers boarding the train to their next show. However, a case of vanishing tickets thwarts their plans and strands them on the platform. It takes every trick in the book (and their suitcases!) to create an impromptu show to raise money for new tickets. This is a hilariously energetic micro-version interpretations of the ballets, Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake. Bring the family! Light refreshments are included with ticket prices.

Performed with the signature MOTUS O physicality and humor, see for yourself how a little magic, some juggling, tight-rope walking and fortune-telling can entertain the whole family!

Our 700 residents love opening the town up to visitors and their families. Come out and enjoy the festival, kids can roam through the petting zoo and have their faces painted, you can take home a freshly made rhubarb strawberry pie.

Each June the picturesque village of Westport celebrates its small town charm and heritage with an all-day street festival where dozens of vendors sell art, crafts, unique one-of-a-kind gifts and delicious homemade food, it provides a chance to showcase the village charms to new people coming from Ottawa and Kingston.

Thacker recently said, “The event celebrates our success as a village and as a community. Westport is not immune to the ups and downs of the economy and what have you, but we persevere and are rewarded with a vibrant, vigorous village. Each year we marvel at the number of people that return. It’s been said before; nobody’s a stranger very long in Westport”.
