Harpdog Brown Review
Vancouver’s HARPDOG BROWN was on the loose at BOTR @ The Cove Inn, Westport Friday night and the crowd loved it – eating up his “take no prisoners” harmonica playing, deep Bluesy voice, great selection of songs (most of them original) and entertaining showmanship. Now I know what western Canadian and Pacific Northwest Blues fans have been talking about for years! Harpdog has the kind of feel for the Blues that only comes with experience and he’s got a ton of it. His young guitarist from Victoria – Jordan Edmonds – accompanied him beautifully all night long – not showy just tight and good. And of course Downchild members Gary Kendall on bass and Mike Fitzpatrick on drums provided a rock solid backline. The Cove buffet was delicious as usual, the dance floor stayed packed all night and $560 was raised for the WESPORT LIBRARY. All in all – a wonderful evening. What a terrific way to kick off the new season!
“Great relaxed atmosphere, friendly people, good music. Keepin’ the Blues alive!” 9’s and 10’s out of 10 for venue, food, service, band and sound.
Laura Reeves, Smiths Falls ON (regular attendee)
“Great show! Harpdog makes that harp talk!”
Daphne Buckley, Portland ON (regular attendee)
“A perfect 10 out of 10 plus bonus points for building such a warm, groovy community here! Watch for our full review of this night in the November issue”
Kris & Rob Riendeau, The Humm Arts & Entertainment newspaper, Almonte ON www.thehumm.com
“The food & service was super! Harpdog Brown was extremely enjoyable. 10 out of 10 for everything”
Denise LaViolette, Kingston (first-timer)
